Officers from the Guardia Civil traffic department stopped a vehicle which had been driving at 235 kilometres per hour on the AP-7 motorway in the Corbera area of the Ribera Baixa in the Valencian Community.

The limit on the road in the section where the vehicle was caught is 120 kilometres per hour and so the officers stopped the car.

They found that the driver was a 22 year old French national and they proceeded to check the vehicle whilst confirming the identity of the driver, subsequently finding a sports bag with more than 200,000 euro in cash hidden inside.

As well as arresting the man for a serious crime against road safety, he also faces money laundering charges on account of him being able to justify the origin of the cash.
