All our partners - Working together for safer roads

All this week, including through the weekend, the Guardia Civil, with the DGT are conducting a campaign focussing on vehicle safety standards.

The campaign, which will also be supported by the local and regional police, will see officers conducting checks on such safety features as tyres, lights and the windows, as well as checking on the validity of mandatory ITV tests and certificates, and excessive weight.

Within the first hour of starting the campaign on Monday officers found 4 expired ITV´s, a motorbike with inadequate tread on its tyres and a vehicle carrying an excessive load.

Always check your vehicle on a regular basis and make sure that your documentation is in order or you face a hefty fine, as the officers play their part in trying to keep you safe through the enforcement of the law.
