If you’ve suffered the theft or loss of a bicycle in the Torrevieja and surrounding area, you could be in luck, as officers from the Guardia Civil have recovered more than 80 in the arrest of four thieves.

Officers from the Guardia Civil in Torrevieja have arrested four men, three of Moroccan nationality, aged 20,38 and 42, and a fourth, aged 20, of Romanian nationality, who are under suspicion of being involved in the theft of almost a hundred bicycles.

A report from the Guardia Civil alleges that the men are involved in a series of crimes, some including robbery with force, as well as thefts, and belonging to a criminal group.

In total, it is believed that the men entered 62 buildings, including storage rooms, garages and homes. The officers have recovered 79 bicycles, 5 frames, and 3 helmets, with a value of around 40,000 euro.

During one robbery, the men stole so many bicycles they discarded some of lesser value to make space for more expensive models.

The Guardia Civil in Torrevieja has now assembled a catalogue of photographs of the bicycles they have recovered, which is available to view by anybody who has recently lost or had their bike stolen.
