It was in August of 2013 when Manuel, based in the town of Cambados, was attacked, an incident which he now wants to forget. Whilst on duty, Manuel was tasked with accompanying a woman to collect various personal belongings from a rental housing she shared with her then ex-partner. After various complications during the case, the end result was that Manuel was attacked and, along with colleagues, suffered a variety of injuries.

Having received 400 euro compensation from the offender, he wanted to take no direct pleasure from the horrific experience, and so decided to make good out of a bad situation by donating the money to those with more of a need.

As a result, three shopping trolleys full of food were delivered to be shared amongst the elderly and needy in the town.
