Emergency services were called to attend a traffic incident on the AP-7 motorway, and despite locating the vehicle, found nobody with it.

The incident occurred at kilometre 775 of the motorway in the Cartagena direction. Reports came to the emergency coordination centre that a foreign registered vehicle had crashed and overturned, then caught fire.

The fire and rescue service were first on the scene, having been directed from San Pedro, followed by the Guardia Civil and medics.

Upon examining the vehicle, the emergency services found nobody with it, although there was clear indications of at least one person being injured, as blood was visible inside the vehicle.

Having made the scene safe, the emergency services then spent the next few hours combing the surrounding area but still found no trace of a victim or victims.
