A new application has been created by Bosch, which aims to alert so called “kamikaze” drivers, who either intentionally or accidentally drive the wrong way down the road.
The software, which will be available integrated into the vehicle´s technology such as GPS systems or SmartPhones, hopes to form a part of the future of safer vehicles by alerting drivers of the potential risk.
Should the driver still fail to respond to the warning, the equipment is capable of forcing the vehicle to stop within a few seconds, simultaneously sending an alert to approaching vehicles of the potential hazard ahead.
Bosch aim to put the technology into production in 2016, although the ability to stop the vehicle will only be available in those cars which have computerised assistance built in.
