The tender for completing the construction of the Orihuela Costa Emergency Coordination Centre will be issued before summer, 2017.

Both the PP run Orihuela Municipal Council, and the now PSOE run Valencia Government have agreed the process of funding the 1,650,000 euro project, which has been stood abandoned since 2011 when the original builder filed for bankruptcy.

With this latest news, the tender will be issued before the summer with a completion date now of the end of 2018.

The centre will house the local and National Police, Guardia Civil, ambulance, fire service and forest fire brigade, although there will be some changes to the original plan in order to adapt to the modern operations of the emergency services.

The original plans were made under the administration of Monica Lorente´s local government.
