Search Launched for Hit and Run Cyclist

The Local Police in Burgos in Northern Spain have requested the help of the Guardia Civil to try to locate a cyclist who ran over an 87 year old woman on Tuesday.

The cyclist struck the woman on a pedestrian crossing which was being controlled by traffic lights. The rider then stopped at the scene of the incident but fled having noticed that the woman was not conscious. The victim died as a result of injuries sustained when she fell to the ground and hit her head on the kerb.

Officers are currently analysing CCTV images, and so far the police are able to offer a description of the rider as a man in his 40´s, who was wearing short jeans and a light coloured shirt.
