An officer from the Guardia Civil traffic department was killed in the line of duty on Thursday.
The emergency coordination centre for Castilla y León received the call at around 09:10 on Thursday reporting that the officers was involved in an incident whilst riding his liveried motorcycle at kilometre 68 of the N-VI road in the Segovia town of El Espinar.
The officer was said to be unconscious. The emergency centre despatched medical assistance and a helicopter but they could do nothing other than to confirm the death of the officer at the scene.
The officer was said to be 31 years of age.
