During the Easter period, officers from the Guardia Civil on the island of Ibiza report that they detected 26 people who were driving under the influence of alcohol.
Of those caught over the limit, 21 of them received administrative sanctions for the offence, on account of the alcohol levels registering more than 0,25 milligrams of alcohol per litre of air, but less than 0,60 milligrams.
The remaining 5 drivers showed an excess of 0,60 milligrams of alcohol per litre of air and were arrested for the offence and brought before the courts, all of them facing a ban from driving and a hefty fine.
In addition to those who had been drinking and driving, 4 more people were found to be driving under the influence of drugs.
