The largest tyre manufacturer in the world, Bridgestone Corporation, has been awarded the contract to supply the Guardia Civil motor pool with tyres for the years 2015 and 2016, in a deal valued at 6.55 million euro, according to information published in the Official Gazette (BOE).
The company, which was founded in 1931 in Japan, was named after the founder, Shojiro Ishibashi, translated his surname into English and found it to mean “stone bridge” in Japanese.
Spanish leading distributor of parts and services for industrial vehicles, Automotive and Industry, the company Europart Hispano Alemana, or EPHA, will also take over the supply of batteries, in a contract worth a total of 666,905 euro.
