Two people have lost their lives on Spanish roads this weekend, in the provisional count between 15:00 on Friday and 20:00 on Sunday.

The first fatal incident occurred on Friday afternoon in the León town of Bustillo del Páramo, when a car and a truck were involved in a collision. The initial investigation suggests that distraction may have been the cause in the crash which resulted in an 81 year old driver crashing into the rear of the truck.

On Sunday, a 17 year old motorcyclist was killed and a 16 year old injured when their motorcycle collided with a car at around 02:20 in the morning in the Alicante town of Novelda.

The 17 year old died in hospital whereas the 16 year old was still being treated later on Sunday having been described as being in a serious condition having suffered a head injury.
