Analysis of data from recent years suggests that since the birth of the automobile, in 2020, more vulnerable road users will be killed on Spain’s roads than the occupants of four-wheeled vehicles.

The information comes from the Directorate General of Traffic (DGT), which suggests that by following the current evolution, there will be more pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists killed than those less vulnerable.

,The Director General, Pere Navarro, shared the information during the launch of the latest campaign, “Nothing is worth more than a life”, focused on addressing and finding solutions to the problem.

Coinciding with the weekend’s commemoration of World Traffic Victims Day, Navarro pointed out that in 2008 the vulnerable users who died were 40 percent of the total and last year they had already accounted for 46 percent.
