A car driver is lucky to be alive, although quite possibly feeling somewhat unlucky, having been caught out on Sunday after being involved in a crash whilst participating in an illegal street race with a motorbike.
What makes this incident stand out more than most is that the car that crashed was a bright yellow Ferrari, which ended its race with considerable front end damage.
The incident occurred in the area of La Carrasqueta, to the south of Alcoi, in an area renowned for illegal street racing.
Street racing is illegal and hefty fines are levied on those caught partaking in such activities, although the consequences for such reckless behaviour can reach far further than the pocket, with deaths and serious injuries all too frequently the result.
