Having a car driving licence, officially classed as a category B licence, not only allows you to drive cars in Spain, but also certain other vehicles, although some with restrictions.
A category B licence allows you to drive automobiles whose maximum authorised mass does not exceed 3,500 kg that are designed and built for the transport of no more than 8 passengers in addition to the driver.

Alternative Fuels
In addition, having held your category B licence for two years, you can also drive cars without a trailer powered by alternative fuels intended for the transport of goods with a maximum authorised mass greater than 3,500 kg but not exceeding 4,250 kg, provided that the mass exceeding 3,500 kg comes exclusively from the excess mass of the propulsion system with respect to the propulsion system of a vehicle of the same dimensions that is equipped with a conventional internal combustion engine with spark or compression ignition, and provided that the load capacity is not increased with respect to the same vehicle. That sounds more complicated than it is, but really just allows for a heavier engine or methods to drive that engine, such as batteries for an electric car.
Car and Trailer
Sets of coupled vehicles composed of a towing vehicle authorised to drive by a class B licence and a trailer whose maximum authorised mass exceeds 750 kg, provided that the maximum authorised mass of the set does not exceed 4,250 kg, without prejudice to the provisions that the type approval standards establish for these vehicles. In other simpler words, your car can tow a trailer, so long as the combined weight does not exceed 4,250 kg, or as dictated by the towing vehicle.
If the trailer exceeds 750 kg and the combined mass also exceeds 4,250 kg, it is necessary to obtain a BE category certification, which enables a passenger car to tow up to 7,000 kg, spread over 3,500 kg maximum weight for the car and 3,500 kg maximum weight for the trailer. This requires both a theoretical test and two practical tests, one of manoeuvres and the other in traffic.
Mopeds
You can also drive vehicles for which an AM licence is required, mopeds for example, and after holding your category B licence for a period of 3 years, you are automatically upgraded to be allowed to drive vehicles requiring the A1 category, which permits you to drive small motorcycles up to 125 cc and with a maximum power of 11 kW (15 hp) in Spain.
Motorbikes
With the category B licence, you are permitted to drive three-wheeled motorbikes or tricycles, provided that two of the three wheels are on the same axle, so that excludes motorbikes with sidecars. The tricycle requires specific approval and must have certain standard characteristics including a parking brake.
Microcars
All microcars and vehicles which have been approved as quads can be driven with the category B licence.
