Traffic officers from the Guardia Civil were called to a crash at km 453,700 of the N-122 main road on Friday, only to find a car lay on its side in the carriageway.
The vehicle had apparently left a roundabout at speed, destroying a road sign as it passed over the divisional kerb, colliding with the crash barrier and then landing on its side.
The driver of the vehicle was unharmed, although did provide a positive result for alcohol in a breathalyser test.
