Guardia Civil Officers in Distraction Near Miss

Two officers from the Guardia Civil traffic department managed to jump for their lives when a distracted articulated truck failed to see their car on the hard shoulder.

The officers were assisting another vehicle which had got into difficulty and had stopped their marked patrol car on the hard shoulder with emergency lights illuminated.

The truck driver apparently failed to see their vehicle and scraped along the side at such force that the airbags deployed.

It was as much luck as skill that the officers managed to jump out of the way from what could so easily have been a catastrophic incident.
