A Guardia Civil traffic officer has been killed whilst on duty following an incident in Llucmajor, the largest municipality of the Balearic Island of Majorca, on Thursday.
The officer was hit by a van whilst attending an incident in which two cars had collided moments earlier.
The officer was in a critical condition as a result of the collision and was taken by ambulance to hospital, under an escort of Guardia Civil colleagues on account of the seriousness of the injuries sustained.
The officer passed away at 03:00 on Friday morning in the Hospital de Son Espases, another tragic loss in the line of duty.
