Good morning grown-ups and Happy Halloween! 👻
It’s that time of year again when Trafford the raccoon puts on his costume, grabs his trick-or-treat bag, and reminds everyone that safety comes first — even when collecting sweets!
As part of the Trafford and Friends project — our very own “N332 for Kids” — Trafford has released a brand-new Halloween song all about staying visible and safe while out after dark. With its catchy chorus:
Wear something shiny, or a light-up band
So drivers can spot you across the land
…the song encourages children to enjoy the night safely by wearing reflective clothing, using torches or glow sticks, and always staying close to adults.
Alongside the song, we’ve also created a free downloadable Halloween safety poster and a colouring-in sheet that children can enjoy at home or in school. Both are designed to make learning about road and pedestrian safety fun and memorable.
These new resources are also featured in Trafford’s brand-new book, Colour with Trafford, now available on Amazon. The book brings together a full collection of colouring pages and safety messages for younger readers — covering everything from Halloween to beach safety and school bus awareness.
Trafford and his friends are always here to help make safety part of everyday learning — through stories, songs, and fun activities for children of all ages.

Song Lyrics
Trafford’s Trick or Treating
Out in the night with a costume so bright
Trafford’s got his torch and he’s holding it tight
Stay with your group, don’t wander away
Stick close to grownups – it’s the safest way!
Watch for cars and look both ways
Use crossings in spooky haze!
Be bright, be seen in ghostly light
We trick-or-treat smart on Halloween night!
Wear something shiny, or a light-up band
So drivers can spot you across the land
No dashing, no darting, no spooky chase
Take your time and walk with grace!
Francisco says “Reflective gear keeps you clear!”
Mark says “Hold hands near roads, stay safe, my dear!”
We’re the spookiest crew with safety in mind…
And treats to gather of every kind!
Look left, look right before you go
Take it slow in the lantern glow
With Trafford and friends, we do what’s right
Staying safe this Halloween night!
