A wasp has been blamed for a crash in which a passenger car lost control and collided head on with another car towing a caravan in the Alicante town of Benissa.
The incident occurred at around 11:50 on Monday on the road linking the towns of Benissa and Teulada (Alicante North), near to an industrial area.
A car, occupied by two foreign women, crashed because the driver saw a wasp in the saloon and lost control of the vehicle, colliding head on with the caravan towing car, also carrying two foreigners.
When the vehicles collided, they subsequently caught fire, which had to be extinguished by fire fighers, whilst the injured parties were taken to hospital.
