A court in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has condemned a 46-year-old woman to pay a fine of 540 euro, after the woman used a forged disabled parking badge to park her vehicle in places reserved for people with reduced mobility (PMR).

Officers from the local police were carrying out a check on vehicles parked at the Guanarteme Health Centre when they noticed the vehicle displaying the PMR in the windscreen, whilst parked in a reserved bay.

Having carried out routine checks, the officers concluded the card to be fake and reported the driver for the offences. The officers withdrew the card and filed the case with the courts, who issued a 200€ fine for illegally parking in a disabled bay, and a 340€ fine for falsifying the documents.
