Officers from the Guardia Civil have arrested 6 people as part in a criminal network responsible for 57 crimes, 40 of which were the suspect theft of high-end vehicles from Toledo, Alicante, Madrid Murcia and Guadalajara.
Under operation “Driven”, the gang members are also charged with a variety of offences, including attempted theft, receiving stolen goods, damage, falsification of public documents, undermining enforcement officers and serious disobedience of an enforcement officer.
Of those arrested, there are 5 men and a woman of Spanish and Armenian nationalities, aged between 22 and 41 years of age.
During the raids conducted by officers, 7 vehicles have been recovered and another 7 partially scrapped, along with devices for cloning keys and electronic equipment used to create and copy vehicle starter codes. The officers also seized another 2 vehicles believed to legitimately belong to members of the gang, although they are suspected of having been used to commit crime.
The recovered material alone has a value in excess of 800,000 euro as the operation focused on the theft of 40 luxury vehicles and the attempted theft of a further 9.
The arrests through operation “Driven” showed collaboration between the Guardia Civil, THE Judicial Police of Toledo and the National Police based in Elche.
