Sales of new cars in Spain rose by 14% in May, compared to the same period in 2014, according to data released on Monday by the Association of Car Manufacturers, ANFAC.

Car sales have risen for 21 consecutive months, partly attributed to subsidy plans implemented by the government which offers money off new vehicles in exchange for older ones.
Plan PIVE 8 was extended in early March, the benefits of which are now set to have been enjoyed by over a million vehicle purchasers.
So far this year, 443,919 new vehicles have been registered, a 21.7% increase on last year.
