What do the directional panels mean?
Directional panels are placed in addition to the warning signs, and let drivers know how severe a bend is, allowing them to make the correct decision to reduce their speed.
Whether there is one, two or three signs indicates the severity of the bend and therefore how much the driver should slow down.
The directional panels have strips of dark blue and white and are located at the start of the bend.
They must be visible at least 100 meters away from the driver and are there to warn you that the next turn is very dangerous and the driver needs to be aware.
Most importantly they are there to warn the driver of the speed at which they can take the bend safely. This speed is at least 15 km / h lower than the speed at which the driver is approaching in line with the legal spend limits.
If you see one panel, you need to reduce your speed by 15-30 km/h. If you see two, you need to reduce your speed by 30-45 km/h. Finally, if you see three panels you need to reduce your speed by more than 45 km/h.
