Four people have been killed on Spain´s roads this weekend, in the provisional count by the DGT between 15:00 on Friday and 20:00 on Sunday.

The first fatal crash of the weekend occurred at 00:45 on Saturday morning in the Burgos town of Villaldemiro, when a truck crashed into the back of a car on the A-62, killing a 43 year old man. It is believed that the truck driver was distracted.

At 06:30 am on Saturday morning a car ran over a 41 year old pedestrian on the TF-64 road at Medano, in the Tenerife municipality of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

At around 23:30 on Saturday night, a vehicle left the N-332R road in Valencia as it passes through the town of Tabernes de la Valldigna, resulting in one person being killed.

On Sunday morning, at 02:50, a 61 year old driver was killed when the car he was driving left the road.

There have also been a couple of lucky escapes this weekend too. In Torrevieja a pedestrian was injured in the early hours of Saturday morning, caught in a spectacular crash in which 5 vehicles suffered damage.

A car apparently skidded at a junction of calle Moriones and calle Ramón Gallud and collided with another vehicle which then collided with a parked car and that car was shunted into two others, trapping the pedestrian who was treated for minor injuries at the scene.

In Pamploma, a 65 year old pedestrian was hit by a passenger car and suffered serious injuries, the car then ending up rolling over as a result of the incident.
