A 10-month-old girl died on Friday, after being left inside a car for eight hours, in the sun.
The tragic event took place in the Mallorcan town of 
where the girl´s grandfather had parked the vehicle at 7 in the morning, leaving the child sleeping in the car.
It wasn´t until after three o’clock in the afternoon when the 56-year-old grandfather remembered the child and so returned to the car where he found her displaying no signs of life.
The man, of Spanish nationality, called the emergency services for help but there was nothing that could be done to save the life of the child.
According to the initial autopsy, the girl died because of the high temperatures inside the vehicle. The man was taken to Manacor hospital suffering from an anxiety attack.
With this tragedy, there are now eleven people who have died in Spain due to the summer temperatures.
