Appropriate Clothing on a Motorbike

Hot weather is not a reason to ride without proper protection.

In Spain, the rules on motorbike clothing are becoming stricter in October, but legislation can only go so far. The responsibility for protecting yourself when things go wrong remains with the rider.

In a fall, instinct takes over. Hands reach out. Knees, elbows and feet can move towards the ground before the brain has even had time to process what is happening.

That first contact with the road can make an enormous difference.

Proper motorcycle clothing, boots and gloves are not about looking like a professional rider. They are about giving yourself the best possible protection when the unexpected happens.
